Brace yourself; starting January next year you may not be able to drink Coca-Cola beverages anymore due to license expiry as the beverage and property conglomerate Fraser and Neave (F&N) lose the rights to bottle and distribute Coca Cola products in the region.
News on the non-renewal of agreements with The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC) caused F&N shares to drop 13 per cent on Bursa Malaysia yesterday, the most since September 1998.
That means there will be no Coca-Cola soft drinks starting 26th January next year in Malaysia if there is no substitute for the current license holder. Therefore you are not being able to enjoy Coke anymore in Mc Donald’s!
I would say Coca-Cola is quite synonym with the country. The product has been in our shore since 1936 and even before World War 2 started.
Anyway I am not an aficionado with Coca-Cola as I prefer Pepsi more than Coke.
p/s:Soft drinks are no good for your health
